How do I decide which series to watch?
-
Due to the large number of serials and channels, and only one month to watch them, it might be difficult to decide where to spend your time as a viewer. But if you follow this guide, we can help simplify your choice.
Choose by Country or Dialect
Do you prefer to see a series in classical Arabic (Fussha) or spoken Arabic? If you prefer spoken-Arabic, do you prefer Gulf, Syrian, Lebanese or Egyptian dialects? This AskMjareb guide enables you to choose series by country and dialect and this alone will go a long way towards helping you choose.
If you want a Gulf dialect, for instance, you can choose from the list above from such titles as AL Ath’raa’, Hudud al Sharr, Sawwaha El-Bakht, Muda Qitta’a min Dahab, Hudn al Shouk, Ushaq Rugmal Talaq, Masa’alat Waqt, Saba’ Abwab, etc. Those who love Classical Arabic will enjoy the biography of Al Hallaj.
Watch the New Season
You may choose to watch the upcoming parts of the series you saw last Ramadan and really liked. Some popular continuing series are Bab al Hara 10, Al Salhia, Al Hayba 3, Kalabsh 3, Afrah Iblis 2, El kibeer Awi 6, Touq al Banat 3, Buqa’at Duua 14, Itr al-Sham 4.
Which Genres Do You Prefer
When choosing a new series to watch, if you can narrow down the genres you like – and don’t like- your choice will become much simpler. Pick from dramatic, social drama, comedy, historical, romance, suspense, biography, action, crime.
Use the lists above, picking from serials in the category that interests you most. For example, if you are looking for historical serials, you may choose the Gulf series Hudud al Sharr, or the Egyptian series Mamalik al Nar, or Touq al Banat.
If you like comedy you may find you love Baraka, Shaqet Faisal, Hogan, Valentino, Super Miro, Fikrah Bimillion Gineh, Al-Barinsisah Baisa , Min Awwal Nazra, TalQit Haz’, or even El Kibeer Awi 6.
Follow Your Favorite Actors
You may also select the series according to your preference of actor or actress. For example, fans of comedian Haya Al-Shuaibi are going to see her in “Al-Bakhta” while fans of the action star Amir Karara will enjoy watching him in Kalabsh 3. Likewise, Amir Saad fans will enjoy the new series “Baraka”. Check the guide list on this page for even more of your favorite actors.
Which Genres Do You Prefer
You might find a series that matches the country and dialect you’re looking for, as well as the genre, and stars some of your favorite actors. However, after watching the trailer you may not enjoy the writing, the soundtrack or the storyline of the series. It’s never too late to change your mind!
